The perceived leader of the Musical Chairs Team. Acquired a cultist following after making a series of premonitions and abnormalities. The most prominent of which being the pretense that once he was to become an official god he would resurrect all whom blindly followed him. In reality, Shimura had been under complete hypnosis inflicted by Tatsuomi Aiko whom acted as his right hand man throughout their trials. This explains Shimura's innate resistance to Medusa's hypnosis, aswell as the success of his premonitions, having been carried out by Aikou himself. None of what he had caused and endured had been through his own volition, but as that of the charismatic "Shiner Shimura". All his life Shimura had been inhibited by poor luck and physicality, he had never been exceptionally intelligent and had no willpower of his own. Being treated as a doormat by salesman and his peers to the point of subscribing to ten newspaper serializations he had no interest in. He had always had a weak stomach and timid nature, leading to him regurgitating his food in school and dropping out. Because of all of his imperfections, Shimura became the prime target of Aikou's puppetry and had carried the burden alone, believing himself to be a pathetic existence. despite this, he yearns for change, for strength. He intended to forfeit his life in the Rock Paper Scissors trial and die for those whom he's troubled but ultimately gives in to his fear and passes the trial with scissors. He apologizes for living, stating that even his will to die is weak. His most precious belonging is a rock, his ideal image of strong will. Shimura's tomfoolery allows him to become a rock whenever he exerts a strong will and says "rock." He has evolved his tomfoolery to the extent he can encase others in his rock. Grouped with Ushimitsu, Mitsukuni, and Natsumegu in the Demon Extermination trial, Shimura resolves to give his life in order for his friends to escape Momotaro's companions. Accepting his fate, Shimura unconciously activates his tomfoolery and becomes a mass of stone, capable of repelling the demons. On the second day of the trials, Shimura saves Ushimitsu to his chagrin by becoming a rock and weighing down the bird demon who was carrying them. The next day Shimura confesses to having aspired to be like Ushimitsu, who does not entertain the prospect. In the Sky-High Hopscotch trial, Shimura is attacked by a mad man with a pool cue. With Akashi's assistance he manages to ward off the man and join up with Akashi's group. Playing rock paper scissors to decide who survives in the group, Shimura wins on the first go and passes the trial.
