Appears in the story "The Case of Yoshiko and Haruko". Haruko is Yoshiko's friend and hopes to obtain Tanaka's love by hunting down a mermaid. She becomes more invested in the hunt than Yoshiko, and eventually confesses to knowing more about the myth of the mermaid's flesh than she initially let on. In [i]The Case of Mariko and Kaori", it is revealed that Haruko is friends with Kaori and tells her about the mermaid's flesh myth. In the first volume's end notes, it is stated that her earlier name was "Nobuko". In chapter 8, Misaki mentions that "Nobuko of class 1" is dating Tanaka.

Appears in "Night-Time Survey" (chapter 19). Mana is confessed to by and begins dating Yamaguchi shortly after Sakura's disappearance. Shinobu, knowing that Yamaguchi had been in love with Sakura, suspects Mana of having hunted a mermaid. When accused of it, Mana laughs and claims that Shinobu is being silly.

Athena is Michelangelo's wife and David and Leda's mother. It is implied that Michelangelo fears her wrath. Her appearance resembles the sculpture Athéna Mattéi.

One of the few male Sekirei seen other than Shiina. He is was once an 'S Plan Guardian', one of the five members of the 'first generation' Disciplinary Squad. Mutsu carries a sword with him but has never drawn it. His ashikabi (patner) is Hayato.The few times he has been in action, he has been shown to slam the butt of the scabbard to the ground creating shockwaves and large fissures in the ground, suggesting that he may possess earth-based powers.

Kazuko is Kotaro's grandmother.
